Lucas name baby tee · Latin, “man from the south”

Lucas (Latin): probably “from Lucania,” a region of southern Italy; Latin Lucas comes through Greek Loukas, usually explained as a shortened form of Loukanos. A connection with Lucius has also been proposed; “light” is not an established direct meaning. In U.S. records it is at its most popular now, in the 2020s.
